Una, May 8: Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today visited the historic Narsingh Temple in Bhakra, Bilaspur district, and attended the ongoing Bhagwat Katha, which is being held from May 2 to May 9. On this occasion, the Deputy CM offered prayers at the temple and participated in the religious rituals along with devotees.
Mukesh Agnihotri honoured the Bhagwat Katha narrator, Jagatguru Sant Vikas Das Ji Maharaj, by presenting him with a traditional shawl, cap, and mace (gada), and sought his blessings. He also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the beautification of the temple complex.
In his address, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Narsingh Temple is not only a place of religious significance but also an important site from a tourism perspective. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to enhancing facilities and beautification of major temples across Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted that the government has sanctioned Rs 250 crore for Chintpurni Temple and Rs 100 crore each for Jawalaji, Naina Devi, and Baba Balak Nath temples to improve amenities for pilgrims.
Speaking on national security, Agnihotri said that India is currently facing tensions with Pakistan and expressed solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces. He prayed to the Almighty for strength and courage to be bestowed upon the soldiers so they may give a fitting reply to the nation’s enemies.
Former minister Ram Lal Thakur, senior Congress leaders Ranjit Rana, Ashok Thakur, Satish Bittu, Vinod Bittu, and a large number of local residents were also present on the occasion.
